Regatta Notices
A word of explanation
This unique regatta has just one event. It accepts entries from all boat types and most classes and age-groups (the smallest boats are age-restricted to encourage young rowers into larger boats). The regatta starts with time trials; boats are grouped by boat type for this. It then uses the times from the time trials to fill heats based on those times. Then, from each heat, the fastest crew gets advanced up one final and the slowest crew drops down one final. The net outcome is, as you can see in the results from last year, boats of all sizes in close racing. So if you find a crew with one athlete in 1st place and a crew with eight rowers and a cox in 2nd place this means a single sculler beat the eight!
